An independent UK information site about legionella risk assessment, written for landlords, letting agents and small businesses.
What this site is
Legionella Guide explains what UK law and HSE guidance say about legionella in plain English. We are an information and enquiry service. We are not a regulator, a laboratory or a water hygiene contractor, and we do not carry out assessments ourselves.
How the content is checked
Every statement about the law is checked against the Health and Safety Executive's published guidance and, for Scotland, the Scottish Government's Repairing Standard guidance. Quotations are taken word for word from those pages, and each guide lists its sources. Prices are ranges taken from prices published by UK providers, with the month they were gathered.
Guidance changes. Each page shows when it was last reviewed. If you spot something out of date, please tell us at hello@legionellaguide.co.uk.
How the site is funded
The guides and the basic template are free. If you ask for a quote, we pass your enquiry to a legionella specialist and may be paid by that business for the introduction. This does not change what we publish, and we will not tell you that you need a paid assessment when the guidance says you can do it yourself.
Who runs it
Legionella Guide is published by Transport Quote Compare Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.
